Sportshall Grand Prix

Julie Rose Junior - U11 Winners On Track Athletics staged the On Track Athletics Sportshall Grand Prix on Sunday 29th November at The Astor of Hever Sports Centre in Maidstone.

The event involved action packed afternoon of Sportshall Athletics with three age groups competing across a range of running, jumping and throwing events.

In the U11 competition teams of 6 athletes competed in seperate boys and girls competitions to determine the top teams. Each athlete competed in 3 track and 3 field events across the afternoon.

Seven teams competed in the U11 Girls competition and on the track the Ashford AC Julie Rose Junior Academy dominated winning all of the six track events to take maximum points. In the field they won four of the events on offer with such dominance across the all of the events the Ashford AC Julie Rose Junior Academy took the gold medals with 152 points. Winning the Silver medals was Minterne Junior School who where the only school competing in the whole competition and how well they did. On the track they was consistant and in the field they won two events to finish on 122 points. Winning the Bronze medals was Tonbridge AC who where consistant across both the track and the field to finish with 108 points.

Six teams competed in the U11 Boys Competition and like their girls team the Ashford AC Julie Rose Junior Academy dominated the event winning two events on the track and three in the field to win the boys competition with 138 points and therefor the overall combined team award. The boys from Tonbridge AC went one better then their girls team winning the silver medals with 126 points after winning one track and two field events. In Bronze medal position was the Blackheath and Bromley AC with 120 points are winning three track events.

In the U13 Girls competition seven teams competed with Blackheath and Bromley AC dominating the competition winning seven events across the track and field to finish with 226 points. Taking the silver medals was Blackheath and Bromley team 2 who where consistant across all events to finish with 188 points. The bronze medal winners Ashford AC competed well to finish with 178 points.
Blackheath & Bromley AC - U13 WinnersThe U13 Boys competition was contested by five teams Ashford AC had a strong team out to win the competition after dominating with seven wins out of a possible ten to finish with 138 points. Winning the silver medals was the Mid Kent & Ashford Panthers who competed well across all the events to finish with 115 points. Winning the bronze medals where Medway and Maidstone competing in their home town and where consistant across all the events to finish with 106 points.
