World Champion Jessica ENNIS broke the UK Indoor 60m Hurdles Record at the Aviva International Match Glasgow in Glasgow. Jessica running as guest ran 7.95s to win her race and break the previous best of 7.96s held by Sarah Claxton who finished 4th in the same race.

The South of England Athetics Association Indoor Multi-event and Individual Competition for 300m – 800m and some jumps events took place on Saturday and Sunday at Lee Valley Indoor Athletics Centre.

Kent Athlete Dina Asher-Smith who competes for Blackheath and Bromley ran a UK U15 Girls best performance with 39.16s at Tonbridge Open meeting on Tuesday. The time was just over a second quicker then the previous mark set in June by Charlotte Wingfield of Barnet with 40.2s.

23 track and field athletes are among the 61-strong team that has been selected by the British Olympic Association to represent Team GB at the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Tampere, Finland from 18-25 July 2009.
