What inspired me?

Saturday, January 16th, 2016

If it wasn’t for sport and athletics inpartically I am not sure what I would be doing right now? At the age of 10 realised I was good at something and that was running fast. I was in year 6 at primary and was part of the relay in the Ashford district sports championships I took the baton and run the race of my life winning the race for the team. From that moment on I fell in love with athletics. At sports day I won the sprint race and then I joined the local club Ashford AC.

Athletics got me on the right track in life and my first real memory of international competition was the 1991 World Championships and the historic epic long jump competition between Carl Lewis and Mike Powell. The latter breaking the world record to win. I am going share a memory from each year since 1991. I hope you enjoy it.
