2025/26 OLYMPIC WORLD CLASS PROGRAMME ATHLETES ANNOUNCED

UK Athletics has confirmed 62 athletes have been nominated for the 2025/26 Olympic World Class Programme (WCP) — the UK Sport and National Lottery-funded initiative supporting athletes on the path to Olympic and World Championship success.

The programme identifies and develops talent through four levels — Podium, Podium Potential, Relay, and Confirmation — helping athletes reach their full potential through tailored training, competition opportunities, and performance support.

Athletes selected for the WCP receive access to UKA’s sports science, medical and performance experts, as well as an Athlete Performance Award to aid their preparation for major championships.

The 2025/26 cohort includes athletes targeting the 2027 World Championships in Beijing, the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, and even the 2032 Olympic Games.

UKA Performance Director Paula Dunn said the investment from UK Sport and The National Lottery was “crucial as we build towards an exciting period for British athletics,” highlighting the chance to compete on home soil at the 2026 European Championships in Birmingham.

She added:

“Our sights are set firmly on the 2027 World Championships and the LA Olympic Games and beyond. Every step we take from here is about building towards those pinnacle moments.”
